Why is Lumitrix moving into the Fine Art Print market?
Lumitrix has now been going for just over a year, and our images have been really well received. During that year we’ve been talking to our customers to find out what they would like to see more of, and noticed a demand for more collectable pieces in a variety of different sizes. We’ve launched our Fine Art Prints to meet that demand, and to enable us to represent a greater number of photographers and images in the future.
How will this change the sort of images that Lumitrix wants to represent?
We’ll still carefully curate our images to make sure we represent the very best of emerging photographic talent, but we’ll be able to add a lot more images to our site to offer customers more choice.
How expensive are Lumitrix’s fine art prints?
We’ll be selling prints at sizes of A3, A2, A1 and A0. Prices will start at around £75 for an A3 print in an edition of 100 and go up to around £850 for a huge, A0 sized print in an edition of 25. We want to make sure we cater for people looking to collect a major, standout piece, as well as those wanting a lovely present for a friend.
What is the difference between a Fine Art Print and a Lumiprint?
Our Lumiprints are the range of affordable images that have been currently selling on the site. They are a standard A1 size, printed in editions of 500 and are priced at fifty pounds. Our new Fine Art Prints are collectors pieces and the images are exclusive to Lumitrix. They are digital C-type photographic prints, and are all sold with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Will you also be expanding your range of Lumiprints?
Yes, absolutely. If we see that a Fine Art image is selling really well, then we’ll also print it as a Lumiprint to give customers the opportunity to buy the image at a more affordable entry point. So both sides of our company will link together in a really democratic way.
Who is your dream Fine Art Photographer to sign to Lumitrix?
Goodness. I would absolutely love to represent Richard Mosse’s work. We can but dream!
