To take these photos, Leonid took part in an international expedition in September 2010, together with a group of scientists, writers, musicians and painters. They sailed around Svalbard and Spitsbergen and then north to the Arctic ice edge. Their aim was to raise public awareness for global warming and the fragility of the polar landscape. Leonid wanted to show a beautiful arctic world, where magical things can happen.
