André Wagner Berlin, GermanyAndré started out as a graffiti artist, which taught him the importance of colour, perspectives and form. His photography career was kick-started when his photograph of graffiti was published by Schwarzkopf & Schwarzkopf and he won the Deutsche Jugend Fotopreis (German Photo Award for the Youth) in 2000. He is now represented by galleries around the world including the Hollis Taggart gallery in New York. André’s work is regularly shown in both solo and group exhibitions, and is also held in numerous public collections. In 2016 he won the Prix de la Photographie Paris. André still lives in Berlin and specializes in photographs of natural and metaphysical subjects.

For this image, André had to cross a cold glacier lagoon in a little rubber dinghy. The striking angle captures the harsh beauty of Iceland.
