Abstract … I see my style as slightly evolutionary. I zone in on what attracts me about my subject. If I don’t like something, I don’t put it in the frame.

Printing something incredible for the first time.
Where do you live?
I live on the beautiful Channel Island of Alderney.
What are the best things about it?
The space, having my husband in his studio next door, the fact I can be running on the beach within 5 minutes of leaving my house and galloping on the cliffs on my favourite horse, Millie.
What is in your dream fine art photographic collection?
I’d throw in some Ansel Adams for sure, and a Gregory Colbert – his work is just awe inspiring. I’d love some works by contemporary photographers who I know and admire … the work of Romulo Sans, Nick Tucker, Edd Horder and Robin Sarmento would don my walls.
If you could keep any type of animal as a domestic pet what would it be?
Snow leopard, lynx or other big cat (aside from a herd of wild horses…).
I love autumn, especially a colourful one … cold mornings but warm days, bright blue skies, yellow leaves.
Best advice for those starting out?
Find a mentor, believe in yourself and do not worry about asking questions - we don’t all know the answers. Experiment, find a niche you are passionate about, and follow it.
What do you want to accomplish that you haven’t already?
I would love to shoot animals in the wild, National Geographic style.
What are you working on in the future?
I have plans to produce a large collection of photogravure etchings in 2013/2014, to be exhibited in a few different countries around the world. Photogravure is when a photographic image is etched into a printing plate, ink is applied and printed by hand on top quality papers. Gravure was developed in the 1850s and was the premier method of printing photographic images, as it remains today when practiced with care and skill.
What is a good life?
A simple one.
