Emilija Petrauskienė’s images are testaments to the value of patience. Born and currently residing in Lithuania, Emilija is a proponent of the time-consuming craft of analogue photography. Consequently, her process involves what most of us would consider an agonizing amount of waiting, prepping, and positioning - all of this, even before she finally captures an image. Emilija’s reverence for all things analogue is further evidenced by her use of a wet-collodion process, a photographic technique invented in 1850. A love for gardening and botanical prints also inspires her work.
