Jessica Jones Richmond, VirginiaPhotographer Jessica Jones creates her abstract images by combining experimental techniques with old-fashioned equipment. She created this range of photographs by placing a Mini Instax Instant Film within the belly of a handmade pinhole camera, and leaving the camera undisturbed, allowing the light to pass through the hole and onto the instant film. Her emotive abstracts are truly unique.
Film cameras like Polaroid Land Camera 100 and 450, and home-built cameras.
This abstract series of images from Jessica Jones were shot indoors and out, using a potted plant as a pinhole camera. In each print, the viewer can identify snippets of objects within the abstract “shapes”; a window, a photograph, a flower, a light fixture, and so forth.
