Jessica Jones Richmond, Virginia
Photographer Jessica Jones creates her abstract images by combining experimental techniques with old-fashioned equipment. She created this range of photographs by placing a Mini Instax Instant Film within the belly of a handmade pinhole camera, and leaving the camera undisturbed, allowing the light to pass through the hole and onto the instant film. Her emotive abstracts are truly unique.Preferred Style
Abstract, open-minded.
Preferred Camera
Film cameras like Polaroid Land Camera 100 and 450, and home-built cameras.
This abstract series of images from Jessica Jones were shot indoors and out, using a potted plant as a pinhole camera. In each print, the viewer can identify snippets of objects within the abstract “shapes”; a window, a photograph, a flower, a light fixture, and so forth.
